This luxurious ex-designer heavy satin fabric is the epitome of luxurious bridal satin. Feel like a queen or the belle of the ball when wearing creations made from this beautiful elegant fabric. Make your special occasion a truly memorable one with this classic beauty.
Classic, natural, ivory cream pearl, with a nacreous sheen to match.
Perfect Pearl is a heavyweight bridal satin fabric that features a light texture within its lustrous sateen sheen on both sides. Clever weaving techniques produce heavyweight malleable, yet dense, extremely stable and low slip. The high concentration of fine, predominantly mercerised cotton, fibres used to create this stunner is what gives such a high GSM.
This fabric may be a cotton blend but it has the look and feel of luminous silk. The dense quality allows for structured creations with fit and flare details, think classic '50s style fit and flare, peplums or contemporary boxy shoulders. '50s style skirts will form undulating folds with unrivalled quality when constructed in this pearl of a fabric.
Perfect Pearl is of course the perfect fabric for semi-structured bridal wear, use this fabric to create fitted corset-style bodices, and '60s-style slim silhouettes. Blazer and trouser/skirt ensembles, mother-of-the-bride outfits and so much more.
For Max Luxe style ideas look to designers like Victoria Beckham and Karen Millen and create your own version of a luxury trench coat. Wear this luxurious fabric creation with your jeans to add a touch of luxury to every day and wear it with an evening dress for classic drama.

Full disclosure; this review is based on a sample of the fabric and I haven’t ordered actual yardage. This is a very substantial tightly-woven cloth, quite thick, with lots of body and little drape unless you have very large pattern pieces. I can’t see it forming crisp pleats, but would make a good jacket or any sculptural piece.
Pearl is a good description of the colour. It has a pleasing sheen. It is pretty white, though. Too white for my project. But I liked the fabric so much I have taken a chance and ordered what I hope is its champagne coloured twin to make Butterick 6639.
