Heather Forever - Jumbo Herringbone Yorkshire Tweed is a gorgeous all-wool tweed. Manufactured in Huddersfield undergoing the same processes as our exclusive Heart of Huddersfield wool range. This superb tweed is not exclusive.

Heather Forever is woven from a superb combination of yarns, this sublime fabric boasts dreamy soft heather hues, like the purple heather-covered Yorkshire Moors which at the height of the season seem to go on forever. This gentle heather and contrasting natural white are showcased in heavier gauge yarns, woven into large-scale chevrons of the herringbone weave. This classic colour combination makes you want to fill your arms with heather and run wildly on the moors like Cathy from 'Wuthering Heights'.

Heather Forever is a closely woven woollen fabric. It has a versatile medium/heavyweight and traditional wool feel that boasts a stable handle that drapes reassuringly with the promise of cosy warmth. It’s the perfect fabric for a plethora of sewing room projects - it will always do as it’s told. Wool of this kind is easy to sew and will stand the test of time. All lovers of textiles will find a plethora of uses for this first-rate chunky herringbone, taking you through A/W and perfectly into early spring.

Gorgeous fabric. Love it.

Easy to work with. And allows flexibility in choice of projects as a result.

Very pleased

Following my initial review when I received the fabric I have subsequently made it up into a jacket and pencil skirt. I am very pleased with the results. The fabric is a pleasure to use. For anyone thinking of making a shacket for chilly spring days this would be a great wool fabric choice. I have ordered a further length to make matching trousers. Beautiful fabric! Many thanks Fabworks!

This is a beautiful fabric. It ticks all the boxes;
wool ✅ texture ✅ warmth ✅ stability ✅ colour ✅🤩
I will make a spring jacket. A “slow sew” over gloomy winter days, ready to bloom along with bulbs and blossom. 💐🌸🌺

Why choose wool fabric? Benefits of sewing with Wool! 🐑

We love wonderful wool! Why? Because it looks beautiful, well yes but did you know wool has a series of superpowers that make it the most incredible natural fibre, suitable for more garment suggestions and sewing inspiration than possibly any other?

Wool has a unique naturally crimped 3D structure which attributes to some brilliant properties & makes it a great fabric to wear throughout all the seasons.

Naturally Breathable: This amazing 3D crimped structure promotes air circulation allowing air to pass through the fabric, allowing for circulation and ventilation for your skin to breathe, keeping you cool.

Shower Resistant: Sheep naturally produce a waxy substance called lanolin. As sheep live outdoors, this naturally occurring wax helps to protect sheep from the elements, naturally shedding water & keeping them dry. This same property is retained within the wool fibres when spun into yarn.

Moisture Absorbing: The moisture-retentive superpowers of wool! It’s hydrophilic core gives wool the ability to wick away moisture keeping you dry and comfortable – this possibly one of our favourite properties because you can stay fresh when wearing wool, from autumn right through to spring!
