Simply fresh natural white. Imagine the colour of freshly poured cream from high in the mountains, or light fluffy clouds where the golden sun warms them with a hint of gold.

Alpine Cream is a superb light airy 100% cotton fabric with a wonderful relaxed look and style.

Cheesecloth has a characteristic semi-sheer appearance and is from the same family as muslin but usually slightly heavier. Its carded cotton yarns give a slightly textured appearance which is soft and almost brushed. The addition of a crinkled finish gives this versatile colourway an, easy wear & easy care style. Throughout the '70s cheesecloth fabrics were used for high-fashion garments with a hippy/boho style, now a new take on the style has made a comeback.

This Cotton Cheesecloth has a wonderful drape quality, is malleable and soft and stable on the width, with slight ease lengthwise due to the vertical crinkles. When you have washed your fabric just shake it out and then twist it lengthwise and leave it to dry naturally and the vertical crinkles will be re-emphasised! Use the same method when packing your made-up garments and you won’t have to worry about creases where you don’t want them.

Garment Suggestions:

Use this fabric to make cool and comfortable S/S clothing that’s perfect for daywear and evening wear too. Add some cotton crochet lace trim for extra glamour. Try Bardot and gipsy style ruffle tops, Dairy Maid, folk-alpine style.

Extend this trend to make maxi dresses and jumpsuits. By adding a muslin lining or cotton voile you give yourself extra versatility to create style with less fullness and added modesty. Super relaxed palazzo-style pants, culottes and culotte-style shorts will all have a superb feminine flair when made in this excellent fabric.

This cool cotton cheesecloth will also make wonderful nightwear such as nightgowns and cute camisole & shorts ensembles. As this excellent cheesecloth will form perfect ruffles and frills, why not make fabulous tiered summer dresses like the ones in the Megan Nielsen Protea Capsule Pattern Wardrobe? Perfect for packing for those summer holiday adventures.

Other Uses:

Use this traditionally versatile fabric for culinary purposes, herb sachets, etc.

Excellent value for money

Exactly as described. Lightweight, very soft to wear, soft white not yellowy at all. I made the front of my top double as cheesecloth isn't fully opaque. Prewash, as cheesecloth does shrink due to the looser cotton weave and crinkles.
