Did you know that the majority of Fabworks' stock is sourced as deadstock? This means that once it's sold out it cannot be repeated!

Look out for this brown tag (outlined in pink) to know whether the individual fabric that you're viewing is repeatable or deadstock.

Fabworks History Handling Deadstock Fabrics

The former company, known today as Fabworks, has worked in reclaimed textiles, rags and textiles waste for over 130 years. Fabworks Mill Shop was founded in the mid 1990s upon purchasing short fabric lengths, which were also classed as waste, something of a novelty at the time. This allowed the business to transform into a more retail-focused setup that we know today at Fabworks, supplying high quality fabrics, from all textile industries, to the general public.

Maintaining working relationships and contacts in the industry, and sourcing a wide range of fabrics, Fabworks' main business dealings to this day continue to be in areas of textiles waste, deadstock and end-of-line fabrics, that are no longer in production/manufacture. As a result, the vast majority (approximately 95%) of all Fabworks' stock is not repeatable.

At Fabworks we are against fast fashion, with deadstock fabrics our aim is to encourage and prolong the idea of sustainability and eco conscious movements through using high quality industry-standard textiles.

The majority of deadstock fabrics are sourced directly from manufacturers, with each individual piece usually a part roll. Stock levels are affected massively by this, as there is no control over the total amount of each fabric there is. Sometimes there may be 15m, other times there may be 150m, and unfortunately this is not something that we can control.

When ordering deadstock fabrics, we always advise that you get as much as you will need as early as possible, to avoid disappointment. Sorry, we simply cannot restock these fabrics once they are sold out.

Look out for the brown tags (just underneath the product photos) when viewing any of the individual product pages, this will show you whether the fabric you're viewing is limited stock or if it repeatable. To learn about regular lines & repeatable fabrics tap here.
