Black Familiar Meltonette is as impeccable a cashmere melton as you could wish for in the darkest, solid black with the lustrous sheen of a pedigree black cat. It has been woven in a plain, fine, close weave and then felted to create a dense, but not thick, meltonette style cashmere with a directional pile.

Properties:
A good medium weight for jackets and accessories, this cashmere is stable and will hold its shape yet will drape softly. The sheen and pile are less pronounced on the reverse, and the face has the silky, flawlessly brushed feel of a pedigree animal.
Suggested Uses:
This 1.8 metre length will make a waistcoat or tunic, and when draped will catch the light spectacularly. Alternatively, it is perfect for blanket stitching or embellishing with appliqué and wool embroidery.
