Colour:

Shades: This impeccable wool and silk Jacquard-woven fabric features a seriously haute palette, evoking all things decadent and delightful. Champagne and Oysters, anyone? The finest yarns of pearl grey set the warp and are woven artfully throughout, featuring a weft yarn the colour of golden oyster. The combined neutral (yet lustrously silken) taupe-like tones produce an overall suggestion of elegant finesse.

Design: The jacquard weave allows intricate, elegant patterns of feather-like appearance to emerge with depth and texture. The interplay of grey and golden beige creates a delicate contrast, highlighting the jacquard’s raised motifs while maintaining a calm, neutral palette.

Overall: Soft and elegant, a neutral, luminous palette perfect for contemporary interiors and refined furnishing.

Properties:

Texture: Silky soft, smooth and delightfully tactile. The wool provides structure and warmth, and silk adds lustre and a subtle shimmer.

Handle: Malleable and supple, perfect for creating swags, tails and other artful interior applications. Should the fabric be chosen for clothing, it will form soft ruffles, gathers and pleats. Perfect for creating style with a little bit of drama.

Drape: Stable width and lengthwise with pleasing bias ease, enabling a sumptuous and elegant drape quality.

Garment Suggestions:

Types: This fabric will make superb garments with an occasion wear aesthetic. Think of tailored blazers, slimline trousers and matching waistcoats, fit and flare dresses, shift dresses and much more. We would advise a delicate approach to washing this fabric and strongly urge you to only dry clean.

Also perfect for historical style and fantasy costumes.

Patterns: Consider patterns such as the Amelia Skirt, the Cordelia Trousers, the Elodie Dress, the Fran Pyjamas, the Fleetwood Frock, the Fender Smock and the Megan Nielsen Protea Pattern.

Other Uses:

Accessories: Create matching accessories such as hats, capes and fingerless gloves with fleece lining. This hard-wearing fabric would work well for handbags, tote bags or make-up bags.

Furnishings: Create elegant curtains and chic blinds that suggest drama and opulence from this Haute furnishing fabric. Other items that will benefit from the lavish attention of this fabric are neatly upholstered, padded pelmets, and headboards. Statement armchairs, sofas, or headboards where texture and subtle shine create a premium feel. Elegant curtains, room dividers, or wall panels to introduce depth and a soft glow to interiors.

Upcycling: Get the most out of your fabric and use up the scraps, incorporate them into your crafts, such as applique, rag rug, and patchwork.

Why choose wool fabric?

Benefits of sewing with Wool! 🐑

We love wonderful wool! Why? Because it looks beautiful, well yes but did you know wool has a series of superpowers that make it the most incredible natural fibre, suitable for more garment suggestions and sewing inspiration than possibly any other?

Wool has a unique naturally crimped 3D structure which attributes to some brilliant properties & makes it a great fabric to wear throughout all the seasons.

Naturally Breathable: This amazing 3D crimped structure promotes air circulation allowing air to pass through the fabric, allowing for circulation and ventilation for your skin to breathe, keeping you cool.

Shower Resistant: Sheep naturally produce a waxy substance called lanolin. As sheep live outdoors, this naturally occurring wax helps to protect sheep from the elements, naturally shedding water & keeping them dry. This same property is retained within the wool fibres when spun into yarn.

Moisture Absorbing: The moisture-retentive superpowers of wool! It’s hydrophilic core gives wool the ability to wick away moisture keeping you dry and comfortable – this possibly one of our favourite properties because you can stay fresh when wearing wool, from autumn right through to spring!
