Fabworks Mill Shop is celebrating its 30th Birthday this summer! As a birthday treat and part of the celebrations we're opening the doors to sewists looking to improve their skillset. Join us in-store for a hands-on workshop celebrating 30 years of Fabworks Mill Shop.
The Curtain Hand-Sewing Workshop is aimed at non-beginners, focusing on advanced hand-sewing techniques used in curtain making. You'll apply what you learn directly to a needle case, which you'll construct during the session and take home with you.
This session focuses on advanced hand-sewing skills for curtain making, guided by experienced sewist and Fabworks Manager, Stacey, supported by other members of the Fabworks Mill Shop team. You'll leave with a finished needle case and new techniques you can use on your own projects at home.

- A behind-the-scenes look at the shop as part of our birthday celebrations

- Runs on two Saturdays — choose whichever suits you: 1 or 8 August 2026

- Standing-only — please wear comfortable footwear
- Limited to 10 participants, keeping the group small for focused, hands-on learning
- The shop will be closed to the public during the workshop, so you can learn without interruption
Fabworks Mill Shop 30th Birthday
This summer, Fabworks Mill Shop turns 30 and we're celebrating in style! From Monday 27 July to Sunday 9 August 2026, we're throwing open our doors for two weeks of birthday treats, including daily promotions, hands-on workshops, heritage displays charting our journey over three decades, and a few surprises along the way.
The celebrations culminate on Sunday 9 August with our first-ever Sunday opening - a special centrepiece event not to be missed. Whether you're a long-time customer or discovering us for the first time, there's something for every sewist to enjoy.
