We tried out The Ilford Jacket sewing pattern 🧵👕
The hugely popular Ilford Jacket has been on our to-do list for a while now, and whilst we’ve only just stocked the sewing pattern recently, we absolutely love the results! 🧥🤩
It’s a beginner-friendly pattern so anyone can have a go! You can create your own utility style unisex jacket using only 1.75m of a light / medium weight woven fabric. There is also the additional option of multiple pocket styles and also a longer length version too – ideal for keeping out that winter chill! 🥶 🍂
Modelled here by Stephen, he used one of our own fabrics from the Fabworks House Linen collection: Verdant Veridian, that features this lovely deep blue-green malachite all over colour tone. The pattern instructions were really easy to follow, and it took him only 2 hours to create this look from start to finish. Stephen opted for the House Linen fabric as the pattern simply calls for any woven fabric (not knitted) as it’s only essential criteria. The woven fabric will allow you to get that structure that the jacket requires, it’s just down to personal preference what fabric design to go for 📏 ✂️
