Specifications:

Weight: Light

GSM: 170

Composition: Wool & Polyester

Width: 159cm / 62.6inch

Colour:

Shades: Storm Cloud Sea is an understated, medium-dark grey-blue hue, almost slate, with hints of vintage Air Force blue. This pleasing mid blue-grey tone has a reliable, self-assured air. It is perfect for uniform-type apparel but equally versatile when fashioned into creative visions and teamed with richer jewel tones, deep greens, and decadent purples.

Design: Woven in a classic Panama structure, this fabric has an even, gently pebbled surface that gives a clean, matte finish. The weave adds subtle texture without distraction, enhancing the richness of the colour while keeping the look smart and refined.

Overall: Proud, polished, and adaptable. This is a beautifully balanced suit-weight wool that delivers sophistication without fuss, making it a reliable choice for a wide range of tailored garments.

Properties:

Texture: Lightly pebbled to the touch, with a smooth, breathable feel. The surface remains matte and refined, offering comfort alongside a crisp, tailored appearance.

Handle: Structured yet smooth, with excellent breathability. It presses cleanly and responds well to careful ironing, allowing you to adjust the finish depending on the desired level of crispness.

Drape: At shorter lengths, it holds its shape with a clean, crisp line; when used in longer garments, it develops a graceful, controlled drape. Always worth checking the final handle after pressing to achieve your preferred finish.

Garment Suggestions:

Types: Ideal for smart trousers, tailored jackets, skirts, shirt dresses, lightweight coats, and relaxed tailoring. Perfect for pieces that benefit from clean lines, structure, and a polished finish.

Patterns: We love this fabric for patterns such as the Cordelia Trousers, the Ilford Jacket, the Amelia Skirt, The Coat, and other classic tailoring designs.

Other Uses:

Accessories: Ideal for refined, lightweight accessories, including tote bags, caps, soft-structured bags, laptop sleeves, and fabric belts. The Panama weave offers durability with a smart, understated finish.

Furnishings: Can be used for tailored home accents such as cushion covers, blind trims, draught excluders, or decorative panels where a crisp, uniform-inspired look is desired.

Upcycling: Excellent for smaller projects and offcuts, think appliqué, patchwork, contrast panels, fabric trays, coasters, and neat storage pieces with a polished feel.
