Heart of Huddersfield's Thistledown Marl plus the Cocoon Jacket sewing pattern, equals a perfect afternoon sewing session! This one will be ideal for popping on in winter with a roll neck and jeans!

Thistledown Marl as a Cocoon Jacket

Heart of Huddersfield's Thistledown Marl plus the Cocoon Jacket sewing pattern, equals a perfect afternoon sewing session!

I wanted to create a garment that was casual and comfortable but also classic in style and in the end I chose the Sew Different’s Cocoon Jacket because I think it suits this fabric and has enough structure to hold the sculptural shape of the cocoon, whilst still being fluid and drapey enough to create a soft jacket. This one will be ideal for popping on in winter with a roll neck and jeans!

10 Minutes With The Maker: Sandra Talbot

10 Minutes With The Maker: Sandra Talbot

Hi! My name is Sandra James-Talbot and I’ve been a maker all my life. My grandmother taught me to knit, crochet and embroider before I started school, and like many women of her generation, my mum was a dedicated dressmaker. When I grew up in the '70s mum regularly received bargain packs of fabrics in the post, and made dresses for herself, my sister and I. I sew and knit because it makes me feel closer to both of those wonderful women who shared their skills and passion with me.
