Specifications:

GSM: 360

Composition: 100% Wool

Width: 156cm / 61.4inch

Colour:

Shades: This sturdy yet refined all-wool twill is woven from a subtle mélange yarn of rich, natural green tones. Loden green brings together greenish grey-blue hues with the depth of verdant moss, a golden, earthy green that evokes ancient forests and time-honoured cloth traditions. The Loden Moss Mélange has a softly variegated appearance, lending depth and character while remaining wonderfully wearable and sophisticated.

Design: A classic twill weave with a softly mottled, all-over colour. The mélange yarn adds visual texture and depth, while the tightly woven structure gives the fabric its clean, tailored look.

Overall: Strong, grounded, and enduringly stylish. This fabric feels reassuringly substantial yet refined, sitting comfortably within a modern heritage aesthetic that values quality, longevity, and understated elegance.

Properties:

Texture: Firm yet pleasingly smooth, with a dense woollen feel that speaks to its durability. The surface is softly matte with a gentle warmth, making it both practical and luxurious.

Handle: Stable and robust in both warp and weft, this fabric handles beautifully under the needle. It presses exceptionally well, holds its shape, and offers excellent control when sewing structured garments.

Drape: More structured than fluid, with a confident, weighty drape. It creates clean lines, sharp edges, and sculptural silhouettes, while still moving comfortably with the wearer.

Garment Suggestions:

Types: Ideal for tailored coats, structured jackets, waistcoats, trousers, skirts, pinafores, and outerwear pieces that benefit from body and warmth. Perfect for designs that celebrate form, structure, and craftsmanship.

Patterns: Well-suited to patterns such as the Cordelia Trousers, the Ilford Jacket, The Coat and the Osborn Dungarees, and other structured or outerwear-focused designs.

Other Uses:

Accessories: Excellent for robust, structured accessories such as bags, rucksacks, satchels, hats, caps, and belts. The dense wool and classic weave give accessories a timeless, hard-wearing finish.

Furnishings: A lovely option for statement home accents, including cushions, bench pads, window seat covers, draught excluders, and tailored upholstery details, particularly where warmth and durability are desired.

Upcycling: A brilliant choice for scrap projects thanks to its substance and texture. Use offcuts for patchwork, appliqué, fabric baskets, needle cases, or characterful soft furnishings and decorative objects.
