Specifications:

Weight: Light

Composition: 100% Virgin Wool

GSM: 164

Width: 153cm / 60.2inch

Introduction:

Ocean Mystery is a classic superfine flat weave, Italian wool worsted suiting. Ex-designer deadstock, originally created for a top British men's and ladies' wear designer renowned for his unique classic British style.

Colour:

Woven with a subtle combination of the finest combed, all-wool fibres. The closely arranged warp yarns feature a rich khaki olive hue that when combined with the weft yarn of Prussian blue produces a seriously stylish and mysterious blue shot with green/brown undertones like the changing colours of the deep ocean. Blue-green tones are perennial favourites, super-smart and so versatile, and make a subtle change from grey or plain blue tones.

Properties:

Boasting a close flat matte weave. The deceptively lightweight hand belies the opposite, wool fabrics of this quality are hard-wearing, crease-resistant, yet comfortably warm. Tailored pieces will benefit from a quality lining. Italian suitings are some of the best in the world and this is no exception. Stable in handle yet sleek and drapey.

Garment Suggestions:

Ocean Mystery will look great cut on the bias for tucked and draped Vivienne Westwood style dresses and skirts. Other uses are pencil skirts, and classic semi-tailored silhouettes, jackets, waistcoats and 50's style cigarette pants, add a matching waistcoat such as The Jemima Waistcoat.

If you love bold tartan statements add some The Cordelia Trousers, Pinafore dresses, fit and flare dresses circle skirts and lots of other '40s & '50s Rockabilly, Retro and Lindy Bop Styles. Create classic kilts, coats, jackets, capes and poncho wraps.

Other Uses:

Hats, caps, bags and accessories.

Great lightweight wool

Great fabric, easy to work with and looks beautiful. Has a slight iridescence to it with a beige running through the fabric which makes the lovely dark green/blue slightly change shade as the fabric moves
