Overview:
Smooth Raspberry is a light-mediumweight, 100% cashmere twill, that has an unbelievably soft hand, is stable, seriously soft and deliciously malleable, with a sumptuous smooth drape quality.

Overall: A timeless deep raspberry pink tone with subtle lustre. Woven using fine cashmere yarns in a classic, close twill. Ideal for colour statement pieces, it is rich enough tonally to stand alone, and soft enough to pair with greys, navies, creams, or deep berry shades - try it with its sibling fabric Smooth Burgundy.
Shades: The solid yarns are of a wonderful raspberry hue in a rich, deep, pinky-red, just like its namesake. One colour runs through the whole cloth, with no marls, flecks or blemishes.
Design: A classic close weave with a diagonal twill, giving quiet structure beneath the brushed surface. Bonus - the solid plain colour means you don't have to worry about pattern matching.
Properties:
Texture: Closely woven and stable, beautifully brushed for the softest hand on both sides, with a subtle lustre and giving a smooth, even surface with a soft velvety finish that invites touch.
Handle: The softest of soft with a superb, malleable hand. This is the kind of cashmere fabric that you just have to keep feeling. Stable and closely woven, it holds its shape as you cut and sew, making this fabric as rewarding to work with as it is to wear.
Drape: Featuring a sumptuously soft drape quality, this fine, light-mediumweight cashmere falls and moves with the body, and is ideal for anything that will show off the drape of this exquisite fabric.
Garment Suggestions:
Types: Ideal for soft tailored blazers and trousers, jackets, waistcoats, skirts, lightweight coats and coatigans. Equally suitable for unstructured styles such as luxury robes, wraps, ruanas, capes and ponchos.
Top tip! As with any brushed cloth, cut all pieces directionally to ensure the colour appears evenly throughout your garment and its brushed soft hand on both the face and reverse make it perfect for unlined styles.

This is one of Fabworks’ famous Yorkshire-made pure wool fabrics, constructed using surplus yarns that have been recycled & repurposed to create limited runs of exquisite quality classic tweed styles. Locally manufactured within an 8-mile radius of Fabworks, UK-spun wool yarns sourced from across the country are put into weave at some of world’s most renowned tweed mills, located in Huddersfield (West Yorkshire, England, UK). The heritage and quality of these items represents classic British manufacturing, in the heart of The Heavy Woollen District of West Yorkshire, renowned for its expertise in wool textiles manufacture.
These are all bespoke one-off pieces that are only available at Fabworks, conjuring heritage, sentiment and locale into the curation of classy colour palettes with a colourful and eco-friendly sustainable twist.
Featuring a range of different weaves, weights and finishes, you will find herringbones, twills, tartans, block checks, birdseyes, jacquards, houndstooths & other special weaves. You may even spot some completely unique weaves in this collection, where along with our manufacturer, we have been able to create brand new & completely niche weave patterns. The weavers who produce these beautiful cloths are experts in their field, operating a small family-run setup, just like our Fabworks family, offering completely unique one-off limited runs.
