Specifications:
Weight: Light / Medium
GSM: 225
Composition: Wool, Silk & Linen
Width: 160cm / 62.9inch
Colour:
Shades: A rich palette of dark, ripe hues of late-season fruit at dusk. The brown-maroon ground is redolent of orchard soil and bark, while dusty blue and raspberry silk neps glint like twilight catching berries and leaves formed from tiny fiberous knots purposely woven into the fabric.
Design: Navy superfine warp yarns intersect with brown-maroon weft yarns scattered with fine silk neps, creating subtle vertical striations throughout this beautifully balanced flat-weave fabric.
Overall: Dark yet quietly distinctive, this is a versatile natural-fibre fabric for those who prefer individuality over corporate convention. Perfect for crafting confident, characterful key pieces.
Properties:
Texture: Twilight Orchard boasts a soft, lightly brushed surface similar to a flannel. The wool feels warm yet breathable due to the presence of linen in the cloth. Despite the speckled appearance, the surface is smooth, and the silk neps are undetectable to the touch.
Handle: Stable in both width and length, with gentle natural bias ease, making it comfortable to wear and reliable to sew.
Drape: Soft, fluid and gently swishy, with an elegant fall that adds movement without losing structure.
Garment Suggestions:
Types: Ideal for elegant styles such as tailored jackets, relaxed blazers, waistcoats, structured dresses, skirts, and refined trousers. Equally suited to softly tailored coats and modern suiting with a relaxed edge.
Patterns: We recommend patterns such as the Ilford Jacket, Cordelia Trousers, Amelia Skirt, The Coat, The Blazer, the Shepherd Skirt and the Juno Trousers.
Other Uses:
Accessories: Perfect for creating matching accessories, including caps, soft-structured bags, clutches, laptop sleeves, and fabric belts.
Furnishings: Suitable for home accents such as cushion covers, upholstered panels, or decorative trims where texture and depth are desired.
Upcycling: Excellent for smaller projects and offcuts, including patchwork, contrast panels, appliqué and ragrugging.
