Introduction:

White Mahogany Trellis - Cotton Poplin Designer Shirting is another first-rate, all-cotton poplin originally created for a top British designer of quality men's and women's wear. This fabulous fabric has a clever geometric, all-over design, resembling the dark mahogany shadows of a diamond trellis against a white background.

Small printed designs are perfect for adding interest to otherwise plain outfits and perfect for teaming with other small designs; spots, ginghams, florals and stripes.

Colour:

White Mahogany Trellis is created from fine optic white, Turkish cotton yarns and is printed in a rich mahogany tone which contrasts subtly with the fresh optic white background.

Add this versatile geometric with rich autumnal, brown/red tones to burgundy or brown suit combinations for super smart coordination.

Properties:

This high thread count all cotton poplin is cool, breathable, smooth and has a stable hand, with a soft drape quality too. When gathered and pleated it will form excellent fullness, perfect for an array of styles; tiered and ruffled- dresses and blouses, pleated skirts and lightweight trousers to classic, crisp shirts.

Garment Suggestions:

White Mahogany Trellis will make superb classic and retro style shirts, Sew Mark Francis' Brighton Shirt Pattern and Vanessa Mooncie's Book: The Gentleman's Wardrobe also has a similar retro style shirt pattern with cropped sleeves. The  Sew Different Layer Up Collection is ideal for creating mixed and matched relaxed separates in these excellent designer poplin fabrics! The Anthea Blouse by Anna Allen is a perfect example of a pretty full-gathered style for easy outfits. Team with your favourite jeans, coloured chinos, skirts or shorts!

Put this fabulous fabric to use for '50s style fit & flare dresses, line the bodice for a crisp finish. Perfect pieces for the holiday season; Shirt-dresses, tunics and playsuits are also excellent choices to make from this cool cotton classic.

The Megan Nielsen Patterns Protea Capsule Wardrobe would make perfect examples of pretty full-gathered styles for easy, stunning outfits and so versatile!

Don't forget to create matching baby and toddler outfits from this classic; super cute rompers, dresses and matching knickers. Add contrasting white yokes and collars, and add some contrasting smocking or ric-rac trim for the cutest creations!

Other Uses:

Add accents of this fabric to your crafting stash for autumnal rich woody hues and white detail within patchwork and applique pieces and so much more.

All of these ex-designer shirting fabrics will of course make the most handsome classic pyjamas with piped collars, pockets and cuffs.

Love the pattern...

hubby has already bagged this one and placed his order for a shirt. Prewashed and ironed easily. Excellent quality fabric at a very affordable price.

Beautiful shirting fabric

At first I was dubious because the price was so cheap but wow was I pleasantly surprised. The feel, the drape, the quality far exceeds it's price. My husband is very fussy about fabric against his skin and always wears a T-shirt under his shirts. Not with this one he was more then happy to wear it without it. That speaks volumes on its own.
I will definitely be buying more . Thank you so much for being affordable in times of austerity, it means alot xx
