Composition: 100% Wool

Width: 156cm / 61.4inch

Pattern Repeat: 4.5cm / 1.8inch

Colour:

Shades: Cocoa Hearth is woven in a deep, blissful chocolate brown, rich, warming and quietly luxurious. This mid-dark brown evokes dark wood, leather-bound books and fireside interiors, bringing depth and sophistication to tailored outerwear.

Design: A bold jumbo herringbone weave with an exaggerated 4.5cm chevron creates a striking surface texture. The face displays the sculptural herringbone pattern, while the reverse is softly felted with a smooth flat weave finish for comfort and stability.

Overall: Heritage elegance meets modern luxury. Cocoa Hearth is a richly coloured, heavyweight wool with timeless appeal, offering warmth, durability and depth. A confident, nature-inspired fabric ideal for classic outerwear with a refined, contemporary edge.

Properties:

Texture: Super soft, closely woven, felted and lightly brushed, creating a dense yet inviting woollen surface that feels protective, soft and high quality.

Handle: Extremely stable and sturdy with a reassuring weight, balanced by the softness of fine wool yarns. The double-faced construction provides excellent structure while remaining satisfying to work with.

Drape: Heavy and enveloping, with a soft, controlled fall. Perfect for coats and jackets that need to hold shape while moving comfortably with the body.

Garment Suggestions:

Types: Ideal for statement overcoats, classic duffle coats, winter jackets, field coats, worker and donkey jackets with leather or waxed yokes, and robust shackets that can be left unlined thanks to minimal fraying.

Patterns: We recommend patterns such as the Amara Vest, the Biker Jacket Cardi, the Brooklyn Coat, the Ilford Jacket, the Lyon Jacket, the Phoebe Coat and The Coat.

Other Uses:

Accessories: Excellent for structured bags, satchels, protective covers and heavy-duty accessories that benefit from durability and form.

Furnishings: Perfect for upholstery and soft furnishings including seat pads, boxed cushions, footstools and bench covers. Beautiful when paired with rustic tweeds or leather appliqué for a country-house or gentleman’s-club feel.

Upcycling: Offcuts are ideal for reinforced panels, trims, appliqué details and smaller structured projects where warmth and longevity are essential.

Why choose wool fabric?

Benefits of sewing with Wool! 🐑

We love wonderful wool! Why? Because it looks beautiful, well yes but did you know wool has a series of superpowers that make it the most incredible natural fibre, suitable for more garment suggestions and sewing inspiration than possibly any other?

Wool has a unique naturally crimped 3D structure which attributes to some brilliant properties & makes it a great fabric to wear throughout all the seasons.

Naturally Breathable: This amazing 3D crimped structure promotes air circulation allowing air to pass through the fabric, allowing for circulation and ventilation for your skin to breathe, keeping you cool.

Shower Resistant: Sheep naturally produce a waxy substance called lanolin. As sheep live outdoors, this naturally occurring wax helps to protect sheep from the elements, naturally shedding water & keeping them dry. This same property is retained within the wool fibres when spun into yarn.

Moisture Absorbing: The moisture-retentive superpowers of wool! It’s hydrophilic core gives wool the ability to wick away moisture keeping you dry and comfortable – this possibly one of our favourite properties because you can stay fresh when wearing wool, from autumn right through to spring!
