About The Remnant Pieces
Each 1kg unit has a random assortment of quality cashmere, as you would expect: the softest, most lustrous, beautiful natural fibre, just begging to be handled and used. Each 1kg bag holds an assortment of spectacularly beautiful cashmere remnants, varying in weight, finish, weave and tone, from the lightest suit weights through to the heaviest coat and blanket weights.
And we haven't even started on the weaves. The finest silken herringbones through to chunky jumbo ones, soft and silken or cosy and brushed. Pleasing basket weaves with their light, cosy texture. Complex fancy tweeds worthy of a swanky French couture house, with textural bouclé yarns and fine detailing. Classic country checks, pashmina-like jacquards and, of course, the favourites: solid plains in heavier, felted, cosy weaves, the versatile basics for your crafting foundations.
Woven by a heritage mill, the same supplier as the cashmere lengths. These quality remnants & off-cuts are a delight for the senses, both visually and texturally. Some pieces carry accent overchecks in contrasting hues, some weaves have a lurex shimmer and some finish in ribboned selvedges. Every kilogram is packed at random, so no two are the same.
How To Use The Cashmere Remnants
Use these pieces for patchwork garments, cushions and soft furnishings, and the most unbelievable textile art, appliqué and embroidery. Make luxury rag rugs, doll clothes, soft toys and sculptures, fabric-covered books, bags and other cosy accessories for you and your home.

With a kilo of beautiful cashmere remnants & off-cuts in front of you, the question is never “what can I make with that?” but “what first?”. Ignoring the temptation to sit and stroke it in the manner of a Bond villain, here are a few ideas to get the imagination going. Many make fun stocking fillers for Christmas. Patchwork is the obvious one, and a kilo of mixed weights, weaves and tones is exactly the stash it needs. Use the mixed weights, weaves and tones for patchwork and appliqué, teddy and doll’s clothes, fabric flowers and brooches on a wire stem or stitched to hats and bags. Pocket linings and patches for coats, jackets and work trousers. Coasters, mug rugs and table mats from the coat weights.
Stress cuddles: a simple mini cushion from two rectangles, which need not match in weight, stuffed lightly. A bolster shape works too, or a weighted chair arm pocket, a bit like a short pair of oven gloves, with a little weight on the seat side and a pocket on the outside for your paperback and your mints.
Pincushion rugby balls: draw up your own segment pattern, stitch the ball together with caps over each end and stuff firmly. Wool holds pins beautifully and the heavier pieces make a pincushion that stays put.
Care: Cashmere can be washed carefully by hand, but wash sparingly and only at need.
