Perfectly Imperfect Notice:
This cloth was saved from a West Yorkshire woollen manufacturer, where it would otherwise have been destroyed. Rescuing good cloth from waste is what Fabworks is for. This piece carries blue staining on the cloth. Wash testing a sample first is advised, as we cannot guarantee the staining will lift. Thoughtful pattern placement will work around the affected areas. It is offered at a reduced price for this reason. We strongly advise ordering a sample, or a 0.5m Cut Length, to inspect the cloth in detail before committing to a project. Wholesome Oatmeal is, as its name suggests, a wonderfully natural, speckled beige tone, akin to a bowl of wholesome oatmeal. The natural melange yarn boasts lighter and darker fine fibres producing a lightly marled effect. This pleasing oatmeal hued all wool fabric has a wholesome natural style, perfect for building a timeless, earth toned wardrobe with a real sense of craftsmanship.
Properties:
Wholesome Oatmeal is a subtly textured all wool fabric with a truly hard wearing close weave construction. It holds a shape well, presses beautifully and is easy to sew.
The hopsack weave has a lightly pebbled look and feel which immediately gives the impression of strength and sturdiness, perfect for projects which require a stable and hard wearing hand. At 416GSM it carries a reassuring, weighty drape when used at length.
Garment Suggestions:
Perfect for outer layers that need body, such as unstructured blazers, shackets, pea coats, car coats, and bomber or utility style jackets. It is equally at home in tailored trousers, pinafore dresses, A line and pleated skirts, and waistcoats.
