100% Irish Linen - Charentais Melon is a fabulous, cool, breathable 100% Linen fabric, woven from fine linen yarns boasting all the qualities of this classic natural fibre with the characteristic finely slubbed linen look.

Linen has been used for centuries because of its beneficial properties cool and breathable, gets softer with washing & wear and linen is impervious to moths and resists dirt and stains. Linen will not form lint or pill and can be washed at high temperatures with only moderate shrinkage. The characteristic slubs, once viewed as a fault are now part of the aesthetic appeal of quality linen fabric.

Charentais Melon is the most beautiful, fresh pale-orange hue, just like the flesh of a freshly cut Charentais Melon still warm from the sun. Perfect teamed with other warm pastel hues or simply chic as stand-alone statement pieces.

Properties:

Charentais Melon is light to medium in weight, stable, cool, crisp and absorbent. This excellent fabric will form sharp details for super smart styles. At first, this classic fabric is crisp but will only improve with washing and wear. The fabric will drape beautifully in longer lengths and form pleats, tucks and gathers which will have a resilient body, softening with time.

Care Guidance for 100% Linen: if you prefer your linen with fewer creases, you can press the fabric with a hot iron to seal the fabric finishers – before washing! We recommend you test a sample piece first.
