So, what is The Pattern Stash?

The Pattern Stash is a collection of ladies sewing patterns, inspired by Fabworks' unique and interesting range of one-off fabrics. We like to think that our patterns are just as unique as our fabrics and something that you will just have to add to your sewing supplies!

Hello everyone,

My name is Chloe and I am the creator of The Pattern Stash. I have been a Fabworks customer for as long as I can remember, coming to the Mill Shop as a little kid with my mum. I remember falling completely in love with fabric and sewing from a young age. Sewing has been in my family for generations, my grandma taught my mum to sew and she in turn taught me. Together we have created so many amazing projects and memories that I know will last forever.

I hope that through The Pattern Stash I can inspire other people to sew and create beautiful and unique garments that we can all be proud to wear, knowing that we've made them ourselves! 

 

I have had the privilege of being part of the Fabworks family for over 6 years now, working in the Mill Shop and more recently with the Online team. The birth of The Pattern Stash was almost accidental as it happens, after we put out a plea for a UK-based independant sewing pattern designer to help us promote our Heart of Huddersfield range of wool fabrics, but with little success. Having spent a lot of time trying to think of ways to shout about our gorgeous HoH fabric and also attempt to promote UK small businesses at the same time, it suddenly came to me... I could do this! I have a costume degree from Huddersfield University and plenty of experience creating garments from scratch.

 

	Our first ever sewing pattern: Jemima Waistcoat

Hmmmmm. I grabbed the opportunity with both hands and spent the next few days at home (during lockdown of Summer 2020) planning a secret project that I hadn't told anyone about yet. I quickly Rung George (Fabworks Online manager) and arranged a Zoom call to present the secret project I'd been working on for the past few days. A positive and very excitable one hour Zoom call later it was confirmed, the birth of The Pattern Stash! Since then I have been wrapped up in the creation of developing The Pattern Stash from scratch. A good few months later and we are in the swing of developing a stunning collection of sewing patterns with our gorgeous fabrics in mind!

 

 

	Sewing Pattern: Cordelia Trousers

The sewing patterns are and will be inspired by the amazing fabrics at Fabworks. If you know Fabworks well or have even just visited Fabworks Mill Shop you will know that it is one of a kind. Often described as an Aladdin's Cave full of precious fabrics, I truly believe that the inspiration for a garment of clothing starts with the fabric, if you love it you’ll want to wear it. The Pattern Stash sewing patterns will sit directly alongside Fabworks fabrics, providing you with the perfect starting point and plenty of inspiration to ignite your imagination. The best part is that because the fabrics are available at Fabworks, we can guide you with our know-how and fabric expertise every step of the way.

What is The Pattern Stash?

The Pattern Stash is a new pattern brand brought to you by Fabworks. It's something that we've been working on throughout the lockdown period, with all designs created in-house by Chloe Statham, a member of the Fabworks team and experienced costume graduate. Each sewing pattern is designed to be used alongside Fabworks fabrics.

Where can I buy The Pattern Stash sewing patterns?

The Pattern Stash sewing patterns can only be purchased from Fabworks Online currently, available for home delivery via our regular courier service, or Click & Collect for local customers.

You will find the patterns within the Sewing Essentials menu of Fabworks Online. Once Fabworks Mill Shop is open to the public again you will be able to purchase the pattern and suitable fabrics in the Mill Shop too.

What sewing patterns are available?

Jemima Waistcoat: Classic Ladies semi-tailored waistcoat sewing pattern

Cordelia Trousers: Chic and Sophisticated Ladies wide leg, paper-bag trousers sewing pattern

Lynsey Dungarees: Unisex Artisan Dungarees, this pattern creates a comfortable relaxed-fitting pair of dungarees. Available in full or cropped length!

Amelia Skirt: A sewing pattern designed for beginners to develop their skills repertoire! Including a figure flattering curves waistband, pockets concealed within the front panels and double kick pleat at the back.

What sizes are The Pattern Stash patterns available in?

Sewing Patterns from The Pattern Stash are available in UK sizes 8-26. Use the handy measuring guide that you will find inside the instruction booklet to double check all necessary measurements before starting.

The Lynsey Dungarees are Unisex and are designed in size bands, please visit the product page for more information on sizing.

The Amelia Skirt is available in UK sizes 6 - 26!
