Beschreibung
Specifications:
Woven in Huddersfield, Yorkshire
Weight: Medium
GSM: 337
Composition: 50% Wool & 50% Cotton
Width: 144cm / 56.7inch
Colour:
Sundew was woven using natural unbleached white yarns across the weft, combined with the most beautiful nature-inspired melange yarn of warm ember hues setting the warp. This fabulous colour blend is redolent of the round-leaved Sundew a strange and beautiful carnivorous plant to be found amongst the dank mosses at the shores of boggy pools, on wet heath and moorlands.
The reddish, pink and green, mellow gold and pale green, of this unusual plant and its mossy surroundings, are all present in this delicious melange. The combination of this Sundew melange and natural white yarns produces a delightful alternative copper hue on the face and predominantly natural white on the reverse, where the classic diagonals of the twill weave sit closely together throughout the fabric. This clever melange-style twill is perfect for autumnal denim-style apparel. Team with classic wool tweeds in other autumnal hues for a semi-smart casual town meets country style.
Properties:
These medium-weight, twill-woven fabrics have the look of classic denim(drill) but boast an array of the most beautiful nature-inspired melange yarns woven at their base and the superb qualities of hard-wearing cotton throughout the weft. Stable in width and length producing a pleasing hand that's easy to work with.
These fabrics will drape reassuringly, especially when used at length and are soft and malleable. The wool warp yarns produce a cosy feel that's lightly brushed on the face. The cotton weft produces a clean cool cotton hand (predominant on the reverse) with just a touch of wool.
These fabrics are perfect for transitioning from winter into spring and autumn into winter. Think of them as heat-regulating denim and they are sure to become favourites within your wardrobe as bespoke apparel or hard-wearing soft furnishings for your home.
Garment Suggestions:
This fabric boasts excellent strength, stability and a versatile handle. It will drape well and has a pleasing malleable hand, yet will hold crisp details such as collars and top-stitched panels; characteristic of jeans and utility styles. Depending on the patterns you choose you can style this fabric in a seriously smart way or something more casual.
Other Uses:
There are of course countless other brilliant sewing patterns available, these are but a few. Other excellent uses are craft aprons, tool aprons/holders, tote bags, messenger bags, hats, caps, rucksacks, and barrel bags.
