Introduction:

Stellar Grey - Italian Cotton Shirting is a superb, finely woven, high thread count, 100% cotton Italian shirting fabric, woven with tiny pinpricked crosses which emulate shining stars in a stellar sky. These finely woven fabrics have a myriad of versatile uses. It will make stylish shirts and blouses plus so many more wonderful creative things.

Colour:

Woven with alternating black and white warp and weft threads into a complex (but classic) micro houndstooth. The overall tone produced is one of a pleasing mid-grey. The tiny stars are woven expertly throughout and featured in a slightly heavier yarn combination producing the subtle twinkling star effect. The reverse of the fabric sports tiny black framed squares onto the micro houndstooth - view the product images for a close-up!

Properties:

This first-rate fabric has a beautiful, soft, almost silky, cool cotton hand with a lightweight soft drapey handle. The weight is light but not at all thin or flimsy (thanks to the high thread count), soft strong and hardwearing!

Garment Suggestions:

Stellar Grey is perfect for a multitude of clothing and craft purposes: why not create the perfect shirt or blouse, this fabric is very unisex. Try shirtdresses, blouses, simple tunics, smock tops, summer dresses and skirts. Sew Different's Applepicker Dress and Triple Tuck SmockStellar Grey is perfect for these styles as they will pleat, tuck, gather and topstitch beautifully.

Other Uses:

This fabric is ideal for patchwork and quilting projects too.
