Introducing The Herringbones:

This gorgeous woollen tweed is one of twelve exclusive fabrics that form the new Heart of Huddersfield Collection for 2022. Hot off the looms and manufactured by Fabworks, from yarn through to weaving and finishing this bespoke beauty has been made in Yorkshire mills by Yorkshire folk! The HoH 2022 collection features two different coloured warps. Six of the twelve herringbones feature a soft misty grey warp, that form the Mist Herringbones. (The other six feature a dark stormy grey warp and form the Storm Herringbones.)

Read our latest blog post here to get the inside scoop on these new Herringbone fabrics.

Winter Walk takes its inspiration from frost-kissed pastures across the rolling hills and valleys of the Yorkshire landscape. Green patchwork fields bordered by grey shaded dry-stone walls, where pockets of serene green grassland are touched with a frosty sparkle. The combination of the light green and dark grey yarns showcases the classic herringbone weave that we have come to know and love so much.

Featuring chevrons of fresh cool green yarn suggestive of that first kiss of Winter, with the stormy grey warp forming a grounding base. The calming green weft is bathed in a cool aura, natural & soothing. Create a magical scene for your Winter Walk and team this frosted green-hued herringbone with denims and linens for a look that will take you through Autumn all the way into Spring.

New sewing experience

Ordered for the front of new cushion covers after a redecoration. I've never sewn with wool before and think this will be a tester before using it for clothing. My order arrived super fast. The fabric is stunning, equal to a famous competitor . Love it so much I need to order more for a matching lampshade. These are the things which excite me😂

The wool itself is faultless, as I always say wool of this kind does as it's told! It's stable, pliable and workable and is a dream to sew with. I used this alongside Hillside Heather - Mist Herringbone. - Dawn

The HOH22 Wool is a pleasure to sew with.

I wanted to create something that was more on the modern side, a new take on the traditional type of Herringbone garments that we always see. I really wanted to show that you don’t just have to create tailored garments out of Herringbone, you can really do what you like with it, I’ve made frills out of mine! I would suggest lining your garments for comfort against the skin. I used this alongside Dewy Meadows - Mist Herringbone, using the two greens together is really effective and looks brilliant made into frills. - Tara
