Monochrome Ribbon Basket Weave is a superb melange of expertly woven cotton and polyester fibres, making a wonderfully textured fabric suitable for a host of clever ideas.
The soft and chunky black cotton warp threads form a stable foundation for the off white/cream ribbon-like yarns that are woven through the weft. The addition of fine parallel lines in the black help to stabilise the off-white/cream ribbon yarns throughout the weft.
Monochrome Ribbon Basket Weave is stable both width and lengthwise and has lots of drapey movement, especially across the bias. Make the most of this textured fabric's drape qualities and fashion yourself sweatshirt style tops and tunics. Think artists or fisherman's smock styles with wide roll necks and useful patch pockets. How about crafting a simple dolman-sleeved top? Add some match cuffing for the hip band, cuffs and neckline and you'll be good to go!
