Colour:

Ash Grey Twill - Washed Linen Blend is just as its name suggests a fabulously soft, cool, breathable linen blend fabric, woven in a classic twill weave with strong linen blend yarns throughout the warp and weft.  The classic twill weave and mid-grey tone are the perfect combination of practicality and style.

Properties:

Linen has been used for centuries because of its beneficial properties; cool and breathable, gets softer with washing & wear and linen is impervious to moths and resists dirt and stains. Linen will not form lint or pill and can be washed at high temperatures with only moderate shrinkage.

The characteristic slubs (once viewed as a fault) are now part of the aesthetic appeal of quality linen fabric. It is stable, soft and has the feel of a favourite linen garment with a pre-washed hand. This medium-weight fabric is closely woven and has excellent opacity. The cotton and viscose content adds a soft-washed feel and easy drape.

Garment Suggestions:

Ash Grey Twill will form crisp details (with a little light interfacing), on collars, cuffs and waistbands. Used in quantity it will form soft and full feminine gathers, with a reassuring drape, plus neat pleats, and pin-tucks. Perfect for utility-style clothing. The Ilford Jacket So all you have to do is decide what to make.

Great weight linen

I made this into a Winona Jumpsuit (Sew Over It) for my daughter.
The fabric washed well, felt very stable and sewed great.

It is a typical linen in that it frays and needs ironing, but it hangs beautifully and is thick enough for her to wear into the colder months.
