Colour:

Shades: Forest Vanguard is a solid, malachite-hued, finely woven wool twill. This rich blue-green shade projects strength, reliability, and modern elegance, evoking the deep, coniferous greens of spruce forests. Confident yet refined, it’s an excellent choice for smart, hard-wearing separates that feel purposeful without being overpowering.

Design: A classic, tightly woven twill with a smooth, even surface and a subtle diagonal grain. The clean structure gives the fabric its tailored look, while the fine weave allows the colour to appear deep and consistent.

Overall: Confident, polished, and versatile. This fabric strikes a balance between authority and wearability, making it ideal for contemporary tailoring with a timeless edge.

Properties:

Texture: Smooth and finely finished, with a soft worsted feel that’s pleasant against the skin. The surface is clean and refined, offering comfort alongside durability.

Handle: Stable and reliable in both warp and weft, with just enough flexibility to make sewing a pleasure. It presses beautifully, holds shape well, and performs consistently in construction.

Drape: Light yet controlled, with a gentle, fluid fall. It creates clean lines and crisp silhouettes, making it suitable for both structured tailoring and softly shaped garments.

Garment Suggestions:

Types: Perfect for tailored trousers, jackets, skirts, dresses, waistcoats, and smart separates. Well-suited to garments that benefit from a clean, professional finish and everyday wearability.

Patterns: We love this fabric for patterns such as the Cordelia Trousers, the Ilford Jacket, the Amelia Skirt, The Coat, and other classic tailoring designs.

Other Uses:

Accessories:
A great option for structured accessories like bags, caps, belts, laptop sleeves, and lightweight totes, where durability and a polished finish are key.

Furnishings:
Can be used for tailored home accents such as cushion covers, blind trims, draught excluders, or upholstered panels, especially where a clean, uniform look is desired.

Upcycling:
Ideal for scrap projects including appliqué, patchwork, contrast panels, and textile art. Offcuts work beautifully for fabric trays, coasters, and small decorative soft furnishings.
