Introduction:
This fabulous polyester crepe is printed with a perennially popular all-over floral design of pretty roses, carnations, tulips and lilies. Classic florals never seem to date and Florifulus is no exception.
Colours:
The complementary colours of gorgeous reds and pinks are accentuated with rich green foliage. A solid black background produces drama and accentuates the classic style. Red and black combinations always seem to invoke the feeling of Latino and Spanish dancers, perfect for producing a feminine style.
Properties:
Boasting a silken drapey handle, this lively fabric has a soft but slightly grainy feel very similar to crepe de chine. Florifulus is stable width and lengthwise with good bias ease- ideal for creating feminine ruffles and frills.
Garment Suggestions:
Create the perfect Salsa dancing dress with a high low hem and flirty ruffles, alternatively go for a simpler 1990s slip dress and wear it over a simple white vest. Perfect for creating over sized shirts in the 1980s fashion and much more. Create the perfect floaty Bohemian/Cottage core style by making the Wilder Gown from Friday Pattern Co. Take a look at Sew Different's Flounce Dress and combine it with Reverse Dalmation - Printed Crepe de Chine for a superb contrast or create shirred styles like the ones in episode 3 of GBSB.
Other ideas to sew include Tie bow blouses, simple shirt dresses, slash-necked dolman sleeved styles, maxi dresses and skirts, kimono style jackets and much more.
