Overview:
This fabric is part of a special selection of Mill shop overstock items that we believe are simply too good to reserve exclusively for the shop. Now available online, these high-quality deadstock furnishing fabrics offer the perfect opportunity to create something truly special.
Specifications:
Weight: Heavy
Composition: Cotton (Latex backing)
Width: 150cm / 59.1inch
Colour:
Shade: This, latex-backed upholstery fabric is woven from versatile mid-grey cotton yarns of a pleasing Pewter hue. Grey tones are a perennial favourite for interiors, easily teamed with most other colours and perfect for grounding brighter pops or accents within your scheme.
Design: Pewter boasts a solid all-over grey tone and features a classic and hard-wearing Panama weave. This hard-wearing close-weave features heavier gauge yarns for a pleasing semi-basket weave effect. Vertical striations of a lighter tone produce the look of linen.
Style: This is one of those fabrics which will sit in a variety of style themes from uber sleek, modern industrial styles to pared down country, beach hut and shabby chic styles. Team with French linens, ticking stripes and grey Toile de Jouys.
Properties:
Texture: Featuring a subtle basket-weave effect, this fabric has a lightly textured surface with a soft, cotton-like feel. Durable enough for everyday use, yet comfortable to the touch.
Handle: With its latex backing, this upholstery fabric offers a crisp, structured feel, more rigid than uncoated options. The backing enhances strength and stability, reducing the risk of fraying, snagging, or tearing during upholstery work, especially when using traditional techniques like tacks and staples.
Drape: Pewter is a structured fabric that only drapes well in longer lengths, making it less suitable for lightweight curtains or applications requiring a soft fall.
Other Uses:
Accessories: Perfect for creating matching doorstops, draught excluders, storage cubes or pockets, tote bags, and more. Durable enough to handle everyday use.
Furnishings: Ideal for reupholstery projects, including boxed cushion pads, removable covers, fixed upholstered pelmets, scatter cushions, bolsters, floor cushions, and bean bags.
Upcycling: Don’t let the off-cuts go to waste, use them for wall hangings, textile art, or creative decor accents.
