Yorkshire Mixtures Tweed Stripe - Dusty Duck Egg is a superb all wool tweed. Woven from a combination of subtle melange yarns which produce a stunning palette of pleasing grey, beige, duck egg blue and heather tones. Yorkshire Mixtures Tweed Stripe epitomises the natural hues you find in the Yorkshire countryside. This ideal combination of complimentary coloured yarns is accentuated by double horizontal stripes, (the only area where the herringbone weave can be clearly seen) forming a striking yet subtle contrast, due to the navy and red yarns used. The yarns within this first-rate woollen have a subtle marled effect, created by using a marled grey yarn throughout the whole weave. This closely woven woollen has a versatile medium weight and has the feel of a traditional, lightly brushed, wool tweed. Boasting a stable handle that also drapes reassuringly, the perfect fabric for a plethora of sewing room projects!

A skillfully crafted fabric will ‘do as it’s told’, wool of this kind is easy to sew and will stand the test of time. Use this versatile fabric to form the basis of your own country collection. Choose complimentary fabrics, such as our exclusively woven Marled Meltons from the Heart of Huddersfield range to break up the stripe or showcase it as you choose. Create a statement by fashioning your own bespoke designs using this special Yorkshire tweed.

Use this wonderful striped tweed to create bespoke blazers and other wonderfully preppy styles. Pinafore dresses are super comfy and make classic key pieces, you can use the striped design to your own advantage; draw attention to, or away from areas of your body. Using bias cutting methods and combining smaller designed fabrics from the whole collection will produce bespoke garments with designer flair. When your sewing skills are more established making a classic jacket, coat or cape is a truly satisfying project. This hard-wearing country tweed is ideal for sports jackets and country style clothing and of course all the accessories, caps, hats, and bags too. Yorkshire Mixtures Tweed Stripe will take you through autumn / winter and into spring, this fabric will keep you warm and dry without being too heavy or bulky.

Interior Designers: use this Yorkshire Tweed to create a range of nature inspired soft furnishings, appliqued cushions, throws, blinds and curtains. Team up with other tweed fabrics from the range.

Craftspeople: Put this first-rate fabric to use for applique on cushions, bag making, door stops draught excluders, hats, caps, neck warmers etc.
