Overview:
This fabric is part of a special selection of Millshop overstock items that we believe are simply too good to reserve exclusively for the shop. Now available online, these high-quality deadstock furnishing fabrics offer the perfect opportunity to create something truly special.
Specifications:
Weight: Medium
GSM: 320
Composition: 100% Cotton
Width: 140cm / 55.1inch
Colour:
Shade: This curtaining fabric boasts a versatile light silver-grey hue. Grey tones are indispensable, easy on the eye, and complement most other colours and tones, making them fabulous for grounding brighter pops of colour. This light grey tone is particularly pleasing with fresh blue undertones.
Design: Woven in a flat weave, with crisp, clean, absorbent cotton yarns, which closely resemble the look of a good utility linen, displaying horizontal slubs and striations within the weave.
Style: Fresh, clean, practical, neat. A true all-rounder- easily styled from neat, uber modern to country, shabby chic and vintage styles depending on your other fabric choices and silhouettes.
Properties:
Texture: This hard-wearing heavyweight linen fabric has the characteristic lightly textured look and slubby feel of a crisp utility linen.
Handle: Stable, slightly crisp, (almost starched). This linen-like fabric will soften with washing and wear.
Drape: This versatile cotton fabric will drape at longer lengths, softening with wear and usage; it will pleat, tuck and ruffle with excellent body, otherwise fairly structured.
Garment Suggestions:
Types: Although this is a fabric designed for curtaining, we have seen some truly unique garments made from our cotton curtain materials, such as dungerees, jackets and aprons.
Patterns: Consider patterns such as the Lynsey Dungarees, the Osborn Dungarees or the Herba Apron.
Other Uses:
Accessories: This hard-wearing fabric will make fabulous hats and caps, tote bags, holdalls, make-up bags and purses too!
Furnishings: Perfect for stylish home furnishings. Furnish your home with style, creating curtains, blinds, pelmets, cushions, lampshades, table covers, placemats, and kitchen accessories such as aprons, oven gloves, etc.
Upcycling: Use your scraps for craft projects with embroidery, appliqué, etc.
