Perfectly Imperfect Notice:
This classic Breton stripe linen & cotton has some continuous (but not immediately obvious) flaws that running down the length. The flaws are like feint lines in a darker tone, as if woven into the cloth at random points. Some may claim these to be natural linen slubs, but we're not so convinced. Although not striking, they do take a little off the shine of this beautiful French-inspired stripe and remove the crispness of this gently toned palette. Otherwise a very clean a classic linen blend that offers a weighty drape and cool feel. If making spring/summer wear with Breezy Breton try loose-fitting styles that will hide the imperfections more than with fitted & structured makes.
Colour:
Breezy Breton Stripe is a masterfully woven European Linen and cotton fabric woven (not printed), with classic nautical Navy horizontal stripes of a wonderfully Breton style sitting within a classic ecru/ cream natural background.
Properties:
Weave consists of flat, closely woven cream 3.3cm stripes alternating with twill/herringbone navy stripes of 4mm. Provides a sturdy and strong hand yet is still soft and malleable. Will create structured details like tucks and pleats yet drape reassuringly. The close weave produces excellent opacity.
NB - The design is horizontal, therefore consideration is needed when using the fabric vertically. Lengths of a maximum of 154cm / 60.6inch less hems and other allowances.
