This impeccably woven cotton shirting fabric was woven with rich brown horizontal silken twill, triple stripes, throughout a crisp clean white background.
The combination of the silky twill-aniseed brown stripes against the crisp white brings to mind the freshness of delicious striped aniseed rock (candy). A refreshing alternative to your usual black or blue striped shirting.
Properties:
Fresh classic white forms the base for lightly raised textured twill woven horizontal ribbons.
This excellent fabric boasts a classic fine cotton shirting hand. Aniseed Stripe is soft yet crisp and stable, with a malleable reassuring drape quality which will form full gathers and, flouncy frills. It will of course make neat pin-tucks and crisp collars and cuffs with the help of a little light iron-on interfacing. Shirt-weight fabrics are a sewing room staple whether you're a crafter or a seamstress and certainly not just for shirt-making.
