Silver Birch Check is a gorgeous all wool tweed. Manufactured in Huddersfield undergoing the same processes as our exclusive Heart of Huddersfield range. This fabric is not one of Fabworks' own exclusive designs.
Woven from superb blended yarns in natural neutral tones of nature. This traditional country tweed is the colour of pale silvery grey and beige that appears on Silver Birch tree bark. The characteristic multi tonal yarns of this range are showcased in the small scale windowpane check. Intersecting bands of silver grey form the windowpanes and draw the eye to the pale ivory beige with subtle striations in the background. These are the organic colours of nature: pale, stylish and classic.
Silver Birch Check is a closely woven woollen fabric. It has a versatile light/medium weight and a traditional rustic wool feel yet has a smoothness, akin to a wool flannel with a milled finish (similar to a lightweight soft melton) that will naturally repel water. The stable handle also drapes reassuringly with the promise of cosy warmth. It’s the perfect fabric for a plethora of sewing room projects and will always do as it’s told. Wool of this kind is easy to sew and will stand the test of time.
