This heathered mélange combines smoke and mist grey yarns along the warp with moss and lichen green yarns through the weft, creating a gentle interplay of light, depth, and texture. The result is a fabric that feels organic, timeless, and quietly refined, ideal for designers seeking heritage-inspired elegance rooted in the natural landscape.
Design: Twill Mélange - The hazy, multicoloured effect is achieved by intertwining differently dyed yarns along warp and weft, producing a surface rich in subtle variation. This traditional technique, with origins in Scottish and Irish weaving, reflects the nuanced tones of natural fibres and plant-dyed wools. Misty Woodland also features a delicate twill structure woven within the mélange.
Properties:
Texture: This all wool Yorkshire Heritage Tweed features a classic wool outerwear texture that balances ruggedness with comfort. Typically fibrous, yet cosy and protective against the elements, naturally insulating, it traps air between fibres, providing warmth without being stifling. Breathable and resistant to wind, though not fully windproof.
