This fabulous 100% cotton, textured, weft ribbed (horizontal) fabric is one of those fabrics which can be used for so many practical purposes you may wish to add a little extra (just in case).
Daydream Blue is woven from soft cotton yarns which are grouped together horizontally (across the weft), then encased by finer - strong cotton yarns in a double weft construction. Thus producing the close, textured rib, similar to an Ottoman rib - commonly found in silk.
A beautiful faded blue tone, the colour of sunny blue skies, perfect for staring up at and daydreaming. Boasting a versatile medium/heavyweight (akin to heavyweight denim), but still maintaining a soft handle that will drape when used in longer lengths. This fabric is stable and strong, dense and hard-wearing - making it perfect for a host of practical and pleasing purposes.
Jump on the Utility style trend and create a worker type jacket/ overshirt with its own unique individuality. The Dylan Jacket from Wendy Ward's book - "Sewing for Every Body", The Sienna Maker Jacket - Closet Core patterns and the Ilford Jacket from the Friday Pattern Co are all excellent styles to make. We recommend purchasing some extra fabric and pre-washing to gauge the shrinkage rate, as cotton fabrics of this type are prone to shrinkage.
