Introduction:
This fabulous polyester crepe de chine is printed with a perennially popular all-over design of assorted sized black spots upon a white background, very Cruella! Classic polka dot styles never seem to date and this alternative Dalmation Spot is no exception.
Colours:
The classic monochrome palette is ideal for creating a timeless style. Black and white combinations sit with almost anything else and always seem to invoke the feeling of chic Parisian style. Alternatively, team Dalmation Spot with Florifulus to create a Latino and Spanish style.
Properties:
Boasting a silken drapey handle, this lively fabric has a soft but slightly grainy feel. Dalmation Spot is stable width and lengthwise with good bias ease- ideal for creating feminine ruffles and frills.
Garment Suggestions:
Create the perfect Salsa dancing dress with a high low hem and flirty ruffles, alternatively go for a simpler 1990s slip dress and wear it over a simple white vest. Perfect for creating over sized shirts in the 1980s fashion and much more. Create the perfect floaty Bohemian/ Cottage core style by making the Wilder Gown from Friday Pattern Co, or create shirred styles like the ones in episode 3 of GBSB. Take a look at Sew Different's Flounce Dress.
Other ideas to sew include classic Tie bow blouses, simple shirt dresses, slash-necked dolman sleeved styles, maxi dresses and skirts, kimono style jackets and much more.
