Introduction:

100% Linen - Simple Life is a first-rate, traditional open weave, all linen fabric with a light and airy 'good for you' style. This mediumweight linen is ideal for a plethora of wonderful projects. Bleached natural fibre fabrics are perfect for recreating a country style to both your home and your wardrobe - perfect for historical costumiers to fashion and interior designers and artists alike.

Properties & Colour:

Made in Europe by a company of world renown, with centuries of expertise and tradition. Linen such as this has been used for centuries because of its beneficial properties; cool and breathable, gets softer with washing & wear, is impervious to moths and resists dirt and stains.

Linen will not form lint or pill and can be washed at high temperatures with only moderate shrinkage. The characteristic slubs (viewed as a fault once upon a time) are now part of the aesthetic appeal of a quality linen fabric.

Simple Life is woven from rustic cream linen yarn to produce a homespun natural-style fabric with a crisp yet airy hand that is super strong and stable width and lengthwise, movement across the bias (due to the open weave being very much like linen scrim). This fabric will soften with washing and handling.

The natural slub quality of the yarn and the traditional weave give this fabric a very distinctive cross-hatched look with a carefree relaxed style, perfect for a host of sewing room projects. All you have to do is decide what to make. 

Open light and airy open weave that produces a semi-crisp, yet malleable hand with plenty of bias ease, due to this we do not recommend usage for structured garments.

Choose pieces that you can layer with other breathable fabrics. The open weave makes the fabric translucent so is best layered to create a superb, summer chic layered-linen look. Create oversized shirts, coatigan-style jackets, and boat-necked boxy tops, perfect for layering over simple camisoles/slips.
