Introduction:

Building Blocks Stripe is a superb woven not printed striped, shirt-weight cotton fabric. The clever Dobby weave adds extra detail and flourishes with pops of featured red.

Colour:

Alternating black and white vertical stripes set an orderly background scene to the red building blocks evenly spaced at 4x3cm intervals. This combination of monotone and red produces a fresh lively palette with classic appeal akin to polka dot designs.

Properties:

Building Blocks Stripe has a soft, almost washed and worn hand, akin to chambray. The soft and malleable drape is perfect for creating pretty ruffles, gathers and pin-tucks. Excellent stability makes this cool cotton fabric perfect for the classic crisp details required on shirts, collar cuffs and button bands.

Garment Suggestions:

Building Blocks Stripe will make fabulous shirts and blouses, the ones you always reach for. Imagine traditional pyjamas and nightdresses with white piped collars and monogrammed pockets in red. Create the sweetest traditional baby rompers and pretty dresses, and add some red embroidered smocking, applique or ric-rac trim for extra cuteness.

Fashion yourself stylish summer dresses; shirtdress style, fit & flare or simple tea dress styles with pretty gathered skirts. Simple T-shirt style tops, smock style tops like the Sagebrush Top - Friday Pattern Co or the Tie Shirt PatternThe Applepicker DressStella Blouson by Sew Different.

Other Uses:

This versatile fabric is an ideal addition to your crafting stash for patchwork, applique and so much more.
