Shade: This muted tartan is a variation of the original Princess Mary Tartan, which has its roots based on the Royal Stewart Tartan. This tartan is named after Princess Mary, daughter of King George V and Queen Mary, and aunt to Queen Elizabeth II and is rooted in royal heritage and wartime service.

This muted version uses a softer, more natural colour palette designed to evoke a subdued and earthy aesthetic with a muted grey/ taupe as its background hue and feature accents of blood red, stormy sky blue and golden yellow.

Design: A closely woven twill fabric created using multicoloured warp and weft yarns to form the tartan sett. The pattern remains consistent with the original Princess Mary Tartan, but the softened tones lend it a more understated, elegant, and weathered vintage appeal.
