Introduction:
Storm Grey is a superbly soft 100% Lambswool fabric in a lovely medium weight very similar to our former Traditions Tweedy Twill.
Woven and inspired by tradition and boasts all the benefits of modern textile manufacturing methods. Storm Grey has a soft and drapey medium-weight handle otherwise stable and with natural bias ease. Perfect for a host of tailoring and dressmaking purposes as well as soft furnishings and crafts too!
Colour:
Storm Grey is a superb melange of marled grey tones that produce a mid-dark grey, traditional tweedy style with the signature diagonals of a classic twill weave.
Properties:
Storm Grey boasts a stable handle width and lengthwise and has a reassuringly soft and cosy drape quality with a subtle sheen. Both sides of this fabulous fabric are the same making for easy sewing.
Ensure the direction of the twill goes in the same direction.
Garment Suggestions:
Team up stylish separates - like our Cordelia Trousers - The Pattern Stash, with classic country checks, adding hand-knitted accessories or tank tops/vests in colourful Fair Isle with a simple white shirt for a stylish and complimentary outfit. Think timeless country styles, relaxed sports jackets and country gent styles - perfect for 'wear with everything' waistcoats like our Jemima Waistcoat - The Pattern Stash. How about a snazzy lining fabric too, our Jewel Jacquard and SOS fabrics are perfect!
Use traditional accents and haberdashery such as horn buttons/toggles to compliment and give a classic country vibe to this amazing wool wonder.
