Let this beautiful, pure silk, floaty chiffon transport you to far away places and dreamy exotic holidays. Mezquita Silk Chiffon is printed with a delicate Moorish tiled design, like the ceilings in the Moorish buildings of Spain.
Shades of soft pinky terracotta are accentuated with complimentary saffron, forming star like points between the floral tiles motif. All this delicate Moorish style is set against a natural white background.
This feather light chiffon has a superb drapey light handle. Chiffons characteristically have a very light, drapey handle and lots of bias stretch and our Mezquita Silk Chiffon is no exception - it will gather and tuck beautifully!
Beginner sewers will need to have some experience with this kind of fabric or perhaps start with a scarf or small project first (French seams are recommended for chiffons). However, if you take your time and put in the extra effort this fabric will make the most stunning of garments.
Perfect for chiffon blouses or a stunning for a '70s inspired full gypsy style dress, alternatively use it over the top of a finer silk satin or cotton lawn to create beautiful drapey layers. Beach cover-ups for the summer time, such as sarongs or kaftans are other great uses for the exotic Mezquita Silk Chiffon. Try coordinating with other fabrics to create ruffles, frills or just use it for the sleeve on a blouse or dress for a different look.
If garment sewing isn't your thing, simply take 2 metres and hem the edges; you'll have yourself a stunning silk scarf or wrap for a fraction of the price of one you'd buy on the high street!
