Specifications:

Weight: Light

GSM: 200

Composition: 100% Wool

Width: 156cm / 61.4inch

Colour:

Shade: Blushed Oat features a soft, warm beige with pinkish undertones, often described as muted almond. It conveys a sense of gentleness, elegance, and timeless warmth, perfect for refined suiting fabrics that aim to be both classic and contemporary.

Design: An all-over solid hue with a subtle lustrous sheen and woven selvedge, a true sign of quality.

Style:  Subtle sophistication, Elegant, Feminine, Calm, Empowered. Team with Ivory, Dusty Rose, Warm Taupe, and Pale Aqua hues for the ultimate S/S palette

Properties:

Texture:  Finely grained with the tight characteristic diagonals of the twill weave, with a subtly brushed wool presence. The wool is noticeable to the touch but not itchy or irritating. It feels super soft, almost silky, and will naturally adjust to the wearer's body temperature.

Handle: This fabric is stable both widthwise and lengthwise. With its gentle bias ease, it’s a reliable all-rounder that handles beautifully and is a pleasure to sew.

Drape: Expect a soft, weighty drape with a satisfying 'swish' when used in volume. It forms crisp pleats, tucks, and elegant ruffles with excellent body. Ideal for structured silhouettes and fluid tailoring alike.

Garment Suggestions:

Types: Blend the fluidity of dark marine tones with the sharpness of gabardine’s weave, creating garments that are both commanding and serene. Perfect for a range of tailored or military-inspired garments, think smart trousers, classic trench coats, coat dresses, safari-core styles, and more.

Patterns: Some of our favourite patterns are the Cordelia Trousers, the Ilford Jacket, the Amelia Skirt, The Coat and the Osborn Dungarees.

Other Uses:

Accessories: Perfect for creating timeless, structured pieces such as tote bags, shoulder bags, laptop sleeves, belts, caps and hats. This smart 100% wool itself well to accessories that call for form and durability, with a refined, understated finish.

Furnishings: Although primarily a garment fabric, Blushed Oat can also be used for stylish, tailored home accents. Consider cushion covers, boxed-edge seat pads, blind trims and draught excluders. Ideal where a crisp, uniform-inspired aesthetic is desired.

Upcycling: Ideal for scrap-friendly projects like appliqué, patchwork or textile art. Offcuts can be transformed into contrast panels for garments, or used to create characterful soft furnishings, think fabric trays, coasters, or classic pieces like Scottie dogs, teddy bears and dachshund draught excluders.
