Introduction:
This cloth was saved from a West Yorkshire woollen manufacturer, where it would otherwise have been destroyed. Rescuing good cloth from waste is what Fabworks is for. This roll came through the salvage in perfect condition with no fault, so it is offered at its full price.
Colour:
Eclipse Black is woven with 100% wool yarns in classic black. This winter staple has a classic look and feel. The ideal fail-safe winter coating fabric.

This heavyweight, closely woven fabric, with a densely felted wool, blanket-like hand and subtle lustre, is perfect for protecting against the elements. Stable and extremely hard-wearing, wool Melton naturally repels water to keep you dry and warm. With a heavy weight and accompanying drape quality, this fabric feels like a protective hug. Envelope yourself in this warming woollen and escape the chills.
Note that the nap of a Melton may be prone to pilling in wear.
Garment Suggestions:
Traditional overcoats or Duffle styles are of course the perfect garment to make from this sturdy fabric, and the blank canvas of solid black allows plenty of room for creative freedom, letting you embellish with folk-style blanket stitch embroidery or needle felting, akin to Austrian folk styles. Get creative and add embroidered trims for instant results and a unique style to be proud of.
This heavy fabric is also ideal for military style Pea coats and donkey jacket styles with leather or PU yokes. Team your garments up with aged leather or oilcloth for a superb combination.
Hard-wearing shacket jackets made up in Eclipse Black will team up perfectly with dark country tweeds as well as your staple denim pieces.
