Introduction:

Lago Maggiore Plaid is a richly coloured dark tartans are a perennial favourite and are ideal for adding a splash of jewel-like colour and pattern to otherwise plain outfits. Ex-designer deadstock, originally created for a top British men's and ladies' wear designer renowned for his unique classic British style.

Colour:

Here we have a classic viscose & wool blend twill woven fabric where colours inspired by the northern Italian lakes are sure to be found. Deep pine green is teamed with the darkest navy blue and accents of Italian sky blue to produce this jewel-toned tartan. Ideal for both classic, retro and high fashion garments. Tartan is timeless and plaid is not a fad! This classic will look fabulous teamed with super-smart, navy, racing green and turquoise blue separates.

Properties:

Wool due to its natural fibre, is of course warm, temperature-regulating, naturally showerproof and stain-resistant. The addition of silky soft viscose and a touch of polyester to this blend make for a stable hand that feels malleable and soft, lightly brushed and posesses a reassuring drape quality which is ideal for tailoring.

Garment Suggestions:

Lago Maggiore Plaid will look great cut on the bias for tucked and draped Vivienne Westwood style dresses and skirts. Other uses are pencil skirts, and classic semi-tailored silhouettes, jackets, waistcoats and 50's style cigarette pants, add a matching waistcoat such as The Jemima Waistcoat.

If you love bold tartan statements add The Cordelia Trousers, Pinafore dresses, fit and flare dresses circle skirts and lots of other '40s & '50s  Rockabilly, Retro and Lindy Bop Styles. Create classic kilts, coats, jackets, capes and poncho wraps.
