Colour:

Shade: This name, Jet Weave, reflects the deep black tone and the subtle texture of Panama weave, evoking a sense of sleek sophistication and tailored precision.

Design: This classic all wool fabric is woven in a timeless Panama weave. This basket-like weave is woven from heavier gauge yarns and is the same weave construction as Panama Hats, and is equally timeless.

Style: Structured, Sleek, Intelligent, Timeless. Ideal for apparel that’s both functional and fashion-forward. Perfect for professionals, creatives, and formalwear. Black key pieces can elevate an outfit instantly or tone an outfit down. They can be edgy, chic, and unique. Monochrome palettes are classic and easy to put together.

Properties:

Texture: Jet Weave boasts a classic, lightly brushed, all wool texture and has a slightly even-grained texture due to the heavier yarns and Panama (basket-like weave).

Handle: This fabric is stable both widthwise and lengthwise. With its gentle bias ease, it’s a reliable all-rounder that handles well and sews beautifully.

Drape: Jet Weave features a reassuringly weighty drape quality when used at length. The slightly open weave creates a useful bias ease, and when draped, displays the lustrous sheen of the all-wool yarns.

Garment Suggestions:

Types: Ideal for single or double-breasted Jackets, cropped blazers, and bomber jackets. Haute utility wear, Structured skirts or skirts that require a full and reassuring drape quality.

Patterns: Some of our favourite patterns to consider are the Cordelia Trousers, the Ilford Jacket, the Amelia Skirt, The Coat, The Blazer, or use the Belvedere Waistcoat and the Jemima Waistcoat.

Other Uses:

Accessories: Perfect for creating timeless, structured pieces such as tote bags, shoulder bags, laptop sleeves, belts, caps and hats. This smart 100% wool lends itself well to accessories that call for form and durability, with a refined, understated finish.

Furnishings: Although primarily a garment fabric, Jet Weave can also be used for stylish, tailored home accents. Consider cushion covers, boxed-edge seat pads, blind trims and draught excluders. Ideal where a crisp, uniform-inspired aesthetic is desired.

Upcycling: Ideal for scrap-friendly projects like appliqué, patchwork or textile art. Offcuts can be transformed into contrast panels for garments, or used to create characterful soft furnishings, think fabric trays, coasters, or classic pieces like Scottie dogs, teddy bears and dachshund draught excluders.
