This medium weight, corded stretch lace has a wonderfully rich wine tone, subtly accentuated by a silky cord in black. The combination of rich wine tone and silken black makes this versatile lace fabric ideal for combining with plain black jersey for quick makes you can make in the afternoon and wear in the evening. Equally superb for lavish ballgowns, bridesmaids and prom dresses.
Merlot - Corded Stretch Lace has a dense allover floral design with infilled foliage placed in a rhythmic chevron-like formation. Excellent four-way stretch and a reassuring medium weight drape quality enables one to add lace details such as pretty yokes, feature back panels or full lace tops to be worn over silk camisoles. Simple raglan sleeved T-shirt style tops like the Frankie Tee from Tilly and the Buttons will look fabulous made with lace sleeves or with a lace overlay to the front body piece and plain black single jersey contrast.
Apply the overlay method to other makes such as sheath dresses, pretty, gathered skirt tea dress and tube skirts - made in black scuba or how about over a contrasting colour for a different look? We also have a large range of soft-touch jerseys ideal for using under our stretch lace. Take a look at the Apple Picker Dress from Sew Different where Faded Emerald - Stretch Lace forms the bodice, we love the idea of using multiple lace fabrics like Merlot - Corded Stretch Lace to create an eye-catching colour-blocked effect!
Merlot - Corded Stretch Lace lightweight stretch lace is also ideal for bra making and other delicate lingerie uses. The Lawren Bodysuit PDF will look fabulous made in this retentive, supportive stretch.
