Koi Commotion (Ametrine) is a finely woven, silken jacquard, lightweight viscose/ acetate twill and boasts a woven design of undulating and sinuous Koi Carp fish featured in a rich copper brown silken yarn set against a complementary lustrous purple/maroon background, with similar complementary hues to the semi-precious jewel stone Ametrine.

This quality fabric has a wonderfully opulent, style that's seriously smart. This silken stunner will appeal to those who love rich colour palettes and striking design. The clever jacquard weave produces varied visual and textural interest that oozes prestige and style.

The overall effect is cool, smart and sophisticated. Suitable for both ladies and gents clothing and makes one think of the Chinese symbolism of the Koi which is a symbol of good fortune. Perfect for adding a conversational quirky yet stylish touch to your wardrobe.

Boasting a super soft, cool silky feel and subtle sheen you would be forgiven for thinking this was silk. This first-rate satin jacquard has a sumptuous hand that is stable width and lengthwise, with a delicious drape. All you have to decide now is what to make...

Koi Commotion (Ametrine) will of course make a statement lining for your bespoke woollen jackets, waistcoats and coats. You won’t be able to resist showing people your wonderful lining! Why hide this handsome beauty away? You can also create stunning occasion wear pieces; dresses with drape & gathered details, bow-tie blouses & dresses, cowl necked shift dresses, simple dolman sleeved tops and quick-make slashed-neck scarf style tops will all add a hint of luxury to simple jeans and top outfits.

Take this elegant wonder and create dramatic '70s inspired puffed full-sleeve shirts with deep cuffs and matching cover buttons. Extend this style into gathered tiered-skirted dresses and wear with statement boots for a fabulous A/W occasion wear piece.

Spoil yourself or someone special and create stylish and sumptuous traditional pyjamas with coordinating piped collars and pocket tops. Or the most luxurious camisole and shorts set with coordinating lace and matching kimono robe. Take a look at Vanessa Mooncie's 'The Gentleman's Wardrobe' for a fabulous two-tone gents robe pattern and all the instructions too!

This delightful Designer Jacquard is the perfect choice for lining our new Jewels of Yorkshire woollen fabric collection. The jewel hues in both collections are a match made in heaven!

The perfect slip lining

This is the first time purchasing one of Fabworks jacquard lining range and I’m thrilled with it. The weight is exactly what I need for my coat making endeavours over the coming months. The colours will look great with the orangeish brown of my wool outer fabric, it really is like ametrine with the purple and earth tone shot through. The koi carp design is beautiful. A fact that fascinates me is that a female fish called Hanako lived until she was 226 years old, which is pretty good going, she outlived several human carers!
