This medium/lightweight cotton calico has a myriad of uses from crafting to dressmaking, especially as toiles - perfect for creating experimental garments and mock-ups.

Shade: Calico gets its natural cream colour from unbleached, unshrunk cotton, still containing tiny brown cotton seeds which appear as very small flecks. This Buttercream version is deeper in tone than our Cream version, with rich buttery undertones and more visible seed dispersion.
Design: This medium-weight calico is woven in a solid, plain, flat, close weave.
Style: Utilitarian, rustic, wholesome, natural.
Properties:
Texture: Lightly textured with a natural, semi-crisp, cotton feel. A slightly more open rustic weave than the cream calico.
Handle: Stable, medium, lightweight, sturdy, strong, semi-crisp- best suited to structured and semi-structured projects. This stable and hard-wearing fabric pleats and gathers easily, creating volume and structure.
Drape: Will drape at lengths over 1 metre.
