This quality solid black-tone fabric is a true classic as its name suggests. Black is timeless, it goes with everything, always looks stylish and creates an impression of serious authority when fashioned into sharp styles - think of military uniforms and classic black overcoats.
Properties:
This wool serge is finely woven (with a double warp) from a high thread count of strong and lustrous Classic Black, worsted yarns, twisted to produce extra density.
The close twill woven construction thus produces a medium/heavy fabric that is very stable, has a heavy drape quality, is less prone to fray, has a subtle sheen and is naturally water and soil-resistant. Wool serge fabrics have been used for centuries to make military uniforms and other smart and hard-wearing apparel.
