Introduction:

Copper Pearl Shot is a stunning blouse weight viscose fabric. Read on for more ideas, info and inspiration on how to use this designer deadstock fabric to create your own bespoke makes.

Colour:

As its name suggests Copper Pearl Shot boasts a wonderfully pearlised meets brushed metallic sheen and shot copper hue with black undertones. This fabulously glamorous hue is achieved by weaving superfine silken viscose yarns of jet black in the warp alongside gleaming copper pink across the weft. The resulting final hue resembles a black pearl with a copper nacrous sheen. Just sublime!

Properties:

Copper Pearl Shot is as its name suggests a seriously soft and silky fabric. Woven in a superfine flat weave with viscose yarns to produce that characteristic lustrous semi-matte sheen of shot silk. The fabric is stable length and widthwise and seriously malleable. It drapes with utter sophistication and will produce fine yet full gathers, pleats and tucks. When held to the light the fabric is slightly translucent. The perfect weight for classic shirts, blouses and so much more.

Garment Suggestions:

Copper Pearl Shot is an ideal lightweight and drapey fabric for layering feminine drape details over structured ballgowns or evening dresses. Team with Plum Pearl - Luxe Stretch Satin or Boudoir Pink - Luxe Stretch Satin for seriously glamourous dresses- think proms Christmas parties and other special occasions. Team with metallic sequins for ultimate glamour. Create stand-alone pieces such as elegant tie-neck blouses and dresses, we recommend lining this fabric.

We love the trend for dreamy prairie dresses (The Wildergown from The Friday Pattern Co and Stitchless TV's Pontoon Tier Dress are perfect) made in semi-translucent fabrics and worn with a simple slip dress underneath. Drapey cowl-neck styles, such as Dolman-sleeved popover dresses are simple and stylish. It's even perfect for basic shell-style T-shirt tops too. Use this versatile fabric to create oversized shirts and dress up your jeans for a quick smart/casual look.
